TALLULAH — Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home here for Garner E. Roy, 76, of Tallulah. Rev. Crawford Williams officiated.
Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Roy died Monday night in the Delta Haven Nursing Home here after a long illness.
A native of Wilkerson [sic Wilkinson] County, Miss., Mr. Roy had resided in Madison Parish for over 50 years. Before his retirement he was employed by the Louisiana Department of Highways. He was also a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lois Murphy of Tallulah; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Nettles of Natchez, Miss.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Allen, Herbert Beard, Leroy Chambless, William Keller, Henry Hutto and Rosell Sanders.
