Danny Carl Richardson was my brother-in-law. A finer man you could not find. I have very fond memories of Danny. I remember when he met his wife JoAnn. She was 14 he was 9 yrs her senior. They dated until she graduated. When JoAnn was a junior in high school Danny perposed to JoAnn, and they were married when she graduated. Danny was diagnosed with Smallcell carcinoma Dec 2003. He was loved by many and he loved more. Danny and JoAnn were the perfect married couple and ours hearts are heavy for her loss.
Danny was the son of Sidney Lee and Maxine Hester Richardson Osborne; husband of Joann Cicio Richardson (daughter of Frank and Cruce Tombrello Cicio)brother in law to Gina Rose Cicio James; Frank Cicio Jr. and Jake Cicio. Father to Kimberly Richardson Smith; grandfather to Bailey and Abby Smith. Danny was the brother to James C.; Sybil F. Richardson Murphy; and Debra Richardson Nicholas.
Danny was an advid Alabama Football Fan, loved Nascar and playing golf with his brother in law Danny Murphy, his best friend; a man he loved like his brother.
Joann has and always will "Love my Lil Buddy"

His sister in law Wendy spoke of Danny in a memorial at the funeral:
When Joann asked me to say a few words about Danny, I thought....
Well, I'd be honored to say words about such a special person.
I knew that I could do it because special thoughts about Danny stay at the tip of all of our tongues. There's nothing unusual about that.
It's just natural to be tickled with Danny.

I immediately liked him when I first met him 18 years ago on Easter Day at Grandma's house.
The Cicio/Richardson families do have that effect on people. But Danny seems to be well liked and special to EVERYONE.
He's like a Big Brother to all of us.

His Dear Sister Sybil said, "If you can find one person who didn't like my Brother Danny, I'll give you a million dollars"
I don't think anyone's going to get that money....

People flock around Danny because of his calming spirit and shared laughter.
He was THAT kind of a guy.
It isn't easy to be that kind of a person, But Danny made things look easy, when they weren't.

After his first radiation treatment, Danny walked out JOKING AROUND, acting like a stiff robot who had been effected by the treatment. "He eased the concern of everyone by making them laugh.

He knew how to make the best of hard things. I admire his courage, strength, persistence and selfless attitude,
and of course, his ability to make us laugh.
He even has us laughing when we were angry.

Danny LIVED honestly, LOVED deeply and LAUGHED consistently.

He loved Alabama Foot Ball, Golf, Car racing, BBQ-ing, Country music, even fishing. And Danny could DANCE... And he'd dance with you even if you can't dance. I stepped on his toes many times. But he kept that GRIN on his face, because everyone was having fun and that's what really mattered to Danny.

Family was important to Danny.
He cherished his wife Joann. They we NOT ONLY best friends, but were soul mates, very devoted to each other with a special bond of unconditional love ... like no two people I have ever seen in my life.
And Danny left this earth while in the snuggling arms of his loving wife Joann.
Danny was especially proud of his one and only daughter Kim, and her family. He bragged about them, and he treasured Bailey and Abbey, his precious Grand daughters.
Danny's Mother was special to him. He thought the world of her. He was a devoted son who respected and honored his Mother Maxine and Ed "Big Daddy" But also his in laws. Danny was like a son to Buddy and Cruce Cicio as well, and like a Brother to Danny Murphy.
All of the kids loved Danny because he gets on their level and makes them feel important.
I am a better person for having known Danny. We all are better people for having known Danny. And the world would be a better place if there were more people like him.
There is going to be a huge, empty void in our lives now. But our own death is easier to face now... Because of Danny. We will see him in heaven with God.
Though Danny was tall, Joann called him her little buddy.
I would like to close with these words from Joann to Danny.
To my little buddy, You will always be the joy of my life. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful memories. Your loving wife, Joann.
When we think of Danny, We think of Laughter. not tears. And you know Danny would want it that way. Even though he understands our tears.

We love you Danny.

God saw you getting tired
A cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered
"Come with me"
And with tearful eyes
I watched you fade away
Although I loved you dearly,
you could not stay.
A loving heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke my heart to prove,
He only takes the best.
Each time I see your picture,
You seem to smile at me and say,
Don't cry I am in God's hands
We will meet again someday.
