Carter K. Higgins

Carter Higgins, a resident of East Prairie, died Tuesday, October 30, 1990 at his home.

Mr. Higgins was born June 21, 1915 in Cullman, AL. to the late Thomas A. and Georgia Rose Adcock Higgins. He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life and had attended the Oneness Pentecostal Church in East Prairie.

On September 14, 1956 he married Mamie Mae Adams who preceded him in death on March 5, 1980. One brother, one sister and one half brother also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one brother, Victor Higgins of Bald Knob, AR; two half brothers, Frank Handley of St. Louis and Paul Handley of England, AR; two half sisters, Reba Standridge and Dolee Maxwell both of Decatur, AL.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 31 at 1 p.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, officiating. Burial followed under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
