Grace Johnson Taylor - METTER - Grace Johnson Taylor, 87, died Tuesday June 23, 2009, at her home after an extended illness. She was a member of The Metter First Baptist Church for over 50 years and was in the Naomi Sunday School Class. Mrs. Grace was the Pineland Homemaker of the year in 1988, loved fishing, cooking, growing beautiful violets and bird watching. She was a great hostess, welcoming anyone into her home to share a meal with her and her husband, but one of her greatest joys was being a mother and a grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her Husband of 64 years, Jack Taylor, Son; Keith Taylor, Grandsons; Jason Kemp and Russ Bowen and Son In Law; Lynwood Kemp
Survivors: Daughters, Jackie (John Robert) Bowen, Marie (Sherrill) Motes, Betty Kemp, all of Metter, Brother, W.D. ( Margie) Johnson of Twin City, Friend Leslie Shuman and Special Angel Marsha Lee, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services 11:00 Friday June 26, at the Metter First Baptist Church with visitation to be Thursday evening 6-9 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery, and remembrances can also be made to The First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 34, Metter, GA 30439
