Obituary
Daniel T. Malone, 69, of Claridon Township, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Pine Grove Manor in Geneva.
Mr. Malone was born March 9, 1944, in Cleveland, the son of Daniel J. and Evelyn (Smith) Malone. He graduated from Burton High School in 1962. He married Joan Petrik and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chardon.
Dan was a CNC computer operator for Newbury Industries in Newbury and Towmotor Corporation in Mentor, and retired in 2001. He received several certificates for manufacturing skilled technologies from Rose Training Systems. Dan served as treasurer for the Burton Jaycees. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, camping, going on fishing charters and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Joan of East Claridon; sons, Daniel (Joni) of Madison, Jeffrey (Stacie) and Joseph (Sharon), both of Chardon; daughter, Angela (David) of Chardon; 10 grandchildren, Hannah, Jenna, Lauren, Allison, Jordan, Ashlea, Morgan, Nick, Beth and Shawna; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Alex; mother, Evelyn of Middlefield; brother, William (Debbie) of Burton; and sister, Kathy (Leonard) of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Malone.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 401 North St., Chardon. (Please meet at the church.) The Rev. Dan Redmond will officiate.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St. (Route 87), Middlefield. Burial will be held in the Claridon Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194-4924.
