Philip H. Amonett, 55, 607 Cheryl Drive, died Thursday in the emergency room of Community Hospital, Anderson. Mr. Amonett was a native of Byrdstown, Tenn., and had lived in Muncie since his early 20s. He worked at Warner Gear Division (now Borg-Warner Automotive, Transmission Systems) for 30 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Creekwood Baptist Church and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 33 in Muncie.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Calling hours at the mortuary will be 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Amonett Cemetery in Byrdstown, Tenn. Services also will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Byrdstown, Tenn. Calling hours at Brown Funeral Home will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
