Devin Rex Taylor
(January 23, 1960 - August 26, 2013)

Our beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Devin Rex Taylor, passed from this life on Monday, August 26, 2013.

Devin was born on January 23, 1960 to Wallace Lee Taylor and Charlene Rex in Ogden, Utah. Devin was a friend to all he met. He was blessed with the gift of unconditional love and he always saw the good in others. He was a man of service, compassion, kindness and many Christ like qualities.

Devin grew up ranching with his beloved grandfather, Charles Rex. He loved and supported a good rodeo. Devin loved to read and learn. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1978. He received his BS degree from the University of Phoenix. He obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah. As a loyal Ute fan, he regularly attempted to persuade others to follow his "red team."

Devin had a firm and unbreakable testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings in the LDS church and he was currently serving as a High Councilor in the Hooper Stake. Some of his favorite callings included home teaching, working with the youth and ward mission leader.

Devin loved this country and was a true patriot. He was instrumental in providing memorials to honor the veterans that served our country.

Devin was the President of American Monument Company and valiantly gave his all to try and help this company succeed. He loved his employees and his customers. He was a dedicated, hard worker.

Devin married Eileen Patricia Steinkamp on August 16, 1997. They were sealed in the Ogden Utah LDS Temple on September 13, 2003.

Devin is survived by his loving wife, Eileen; children, Tiffani Taylor, Cody (Stephanie) Taylor, Staci (Charles) Williamson, Justin and Brian Taylor; grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlyn and Joshua; mother, Charlene Rex Herbert; sisters, Veronica (John) Wolthuis, Jeanene Smock, Mindy (Rod) Maughan; brothers, Lorin (Emily) Herbert and Jay Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Reta Rex, Jay Warren and Alley Taylor, and his father.

The family would like to thank Corey, Steve, Jenn and Les for all their hard work, sacrifice and unconditional love towards Devin. The family appreciates and treasures the outpouring of love and friendship they have received.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 31st at 10 a.m. at the Hooper North Chapel, 5000 South 5900 West.

A visitation in Devin's honor will be held on Friday, August 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday prior to the funeral, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Randolph, Utah Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
