Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Ruth Hammack, 71, of Nacogdoches will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at 2 PM at Laird Funeral Home with Sonny Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas. Mrs. Hammack passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in Nacogdoches. She was born on October 5, 1941, to the late Abb B. Dill and Thelma Parks.
Ruth was born in Garrison, Texas and grew up in the Nacogdoches County area. She enjoyed camping, fishing, canning and gardening and tending to her roses. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch naming her squirrels and birds as they passed by; she loved her animals. Ruth mostly enjoyed going dancing, anytime she could with her loving husband of ten years, Glen Harvin. Her family and friends were her love and passion most of all. She loved spending time with them as much as she could. Ruth showed how much she loved them by crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, leaving behind memories on every blanket she made. She was well loved and will be very well missed by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Glenn Harvin; sons, Robert Rogers, Joey Rogers and wife, Brenda, Roy Rogers and wife, Mary, Gerald Glenn Harvin and wife, Jimmie, Tom Harvin and wife, Donna ,Jim Chamberlin; daughters, Darlene Prescott and husband, Steve, Sherry Johnson and husband, Jerry and Shelia Cain; brothers, Albert B. Dill and wife, Briget, Jerry Dubose, Frank Dubose, Rocky Dubose and Brian Baker; sisters, Edna Austin and husband, Harvey , Peggy Greenwood and husband, Bill; thirteen grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Abb B. Dill and Thelma Parks; son, Thomas Wayne Rogers; brother, James Roy Dill.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Glenn Harvin, Thomas Lee Rogers, Justin Wayne Luke, John C. Lawrence, Jody Morrow, Joe Rogers, James Rowlins, Timmy Dale Morrow and Kelby Rogers.
