Hazel Bridges, 82, of Commerce, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Embracing Hospice in Snellville.

She was born in Madison County on June 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Paul and Ora Vesta Wilson Davis. She was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church in Commerce and had a passion for antiques and gardening. Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Bridges.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Bridges, Commerce; daughter-in-law, Judy Bridges; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Ricky Thomas, Snellville; grandson and spouse, Adam and Darcie Thomas, Suwanee; granddaughters, Ashley and Johnathan Golliher, Norcross, and Jill and Scott Matthews, Cumming; three great-grandchildren, Isabella and Garrett Matthews, Cumming, and Gracie Diane Thomas, Suwanee.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. David Harbin officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
