Ephraim Melhorn, 79, of York, died Tuesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Beatrice Mae (Sterner) Melhorn and the late Elsie (Metz) Melhorn.
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Viewing will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Melhorn was born Oct. 30, 1921, in York. He was the son of the late Edward and Cora Mae (Brenner) Melhorn.
He was a self-employed painter for 50 years. He was a member of Melhorn Gospel Singers for 22 years; and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Melhorn also is survived by two daughters, Jackie A. Ruby and Jill E. Melhorn, both of York; a brother, Stanley Melhorn of Manchester; and a sister, Catherine Hoover of York.
Officiating at the service will be pastor Dennis F. Woods.
