Ruth I. Brown was born September 16, 1884 at Hawkeye, Iowa to Isaac Alanson Niles and Mary Wahln Niles. She left this life on December 18, 1971 at St. Paul, reaching the age of 87 years.
In 1894 she came with her parents to Fullerton, where she grew to womanhood, graduating from the Fullerton High School. She taught school for several years. On June 27, 1906 she was married to J. Alf Brown of Palmer. They made their home on a farm north of Palmer where they have resided for 65 years.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the United Methodist Church of Palmer.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Harvey and Roger of Fullerton and Jack of Palmer; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Marie Wages of Missoula, Montana; one sister, Mrs. B. L. Anderson of Fullerton; two brothers, Edwin and Ransom Niles of Portland, Oregon; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
