DECATUR — Celia M. Dehority-Rupert, 82, of Decatur passed away 10:30 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 27, 2005) in Moweaqua Nursing and Retirement Center.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005) in First Lutheran Church with visitation one hour before services. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Lutheran Church. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Rupert was born on March 20, 1923 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Stephen E. & Viola E. Peterson McDaniel. She was raised by her father and step mother, Geneva Bundy McDaniel. She founded Humpty Dumpty Child Development Center in 1957 along with her husband Jim. She married James E. Dehority, Jr on October 12, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1984. She later married Robert Dale Rupert on July 25, 1997.
Surviving is her husband: Robert of Decatur; sons: James "Steve" Dehority and his wife Kathy of Herrick, IL, Mark Dehority and his wife Lynnette of Moweaqua, IL, Kevin Dehority of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James, step mother, 4 brothers: David, Howard, Earl and Robert McDaniel, 2 great grandchildren and one niece.
