NOTE: Both Stanley and Katharine were heirs to their respective late fathers' estates.
CHILDREN: No issue.
PARENTS: Nancy "Nettie" Maria Fowler m. Cyrus Hall McCormick.
NOTES: Stanley Robert McCormick was a multi-millionaire heir to his late father's vast fortune. By 1906 (two years after marrying), Stanley had been deemed incompetent by physicians. In 1909, the CA Supreme Court adjudged him incompetent by mental disease and guardians were appointed. Stanley's siblings Harold, Cyrus, and Anita opposed his wife Katharine in the CA and IL courts for decades trying to establish who would control Stanley's person and fortune. In 1929, brother Harold and wife Katharine were appointed joint conservators of Stanley's estate by the IL court (IL was Stanley's legal residence and where he had vast holdings) with guardianship matters remaining in the CA court system (Stanley resided in CA at the McCormick estate, Riven Rock, from 1906 until his death). Riven Rock's construction was overseen by Stanley for the benefit of his sister Mary Virginia McCormick who also suffered from schizophrenia. By the time Stanley moved in, Mary had been moved to a sanatorium in Alabama.
