Clarence F. Abbott, 58, member of one of Mt. Lebanon's pioneering families, died yesterday at him home.

Mr. Abbott, of 236 Arden Rd., was a grandson of Christ Abbott, who settled in what is now Green Tree Borough early in the 19th Century.

About 100 years ago the family homestead was moved to the present site of the Colonial Plan off Beverly Road in Mt. Lebanon.

Mr. Abbott was secretary-treasurer of the Abbott Packing Co. and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Geyser Abbott; two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Dudt and Mrs. Ruth Marian Walker; a son, Clarence F. Abbott Jr.; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Jeffery, Mrs. Emma Dillner, Mrs. Rose Donley and Mrs. Clara Millard; two brothers, Albert and Howard Abbott, and three grandchildren.

Friends are being received at the Beinhauer Mortuary, 2630 W. Liberty Ave., where services will be at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
