A native of Forsyth County, he was the husband of Judy Burge, who survives and the son of the late John David Burge and Callie Burge, who survives. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired truck driver for ABF Company. Johnny was a member of Swepsonville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home and mother of Winston-Salem, survivors include two daughters, Sherri B. White and husband Randy of Snow Camp and Traci Donley of Graham; two sons, D. Allen Burge and Keith P. Burge, both of Graham; four grandchildren, Nick White, Trevor White, Christina Donley and Laurin Burge; and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Donley.
A graveside service will be conducted at Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Lynn McLaurin.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
