Mr. Buie was a native of Paris, Tenn., and had been a resident of Darien since 1959. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Darien and the American Legion. He was retired from the Altama Delta in Darien after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deniacia Buie Mitchell.
Survivors are his wife, Maggie Rowe Buie of Darien; a son, Dennis Buie (Christy) of Brunswick; two brothers, William Buie (Fay) of Paris, Tenn., and Kenneth Buie (Janet) of Jonesboro, Ark.; two sisters, Evelyn Holland of Taylor, Mich., and Margaret Covington of Brownsville, Tenn.; son-in-law, G. B. Mitchell of Darien; three grandchildren, Chad Mitchell (Jessie) and Chris Mitchell (Joy), both of Darien, and Lauren Buie of Brunswick; four great grandchildren, Brandt, Deniacia, Austin and Alex Mitchell, all of Darien; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the graveside in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien with Military Honors at the Graveside. The Rev. Michael Warren will be officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Glynn County Chapter, 3011 Hampton Ave., Suite 320, Brunswick, GA 31520.
