Rosenberg Herald, May 7, 1937:

Funeral services were held at the grave in the W.O.W. Cemetery, here Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, for Mrs. Augusta Forster Schaefer, whose death occurred at her home in Schulenburg, Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Schaefer had been in ill health for some time, but her death came as a distinct shock to both family and friends.

Mrs. Schaefer was born in Needville, Texas, daughter of the late Mr. Fritz Forster and Mrs. Forster, prominent and pioneer family of Fort Bend county. She never lived in Rosenberg, but often visited her parents after they came to make their home here and she had many friends and acquaintances in this section.

She was well educated, having attended colleges in Brenham and San Antonio and later went to Germany, where she studied music. She was married to Mr. Robert E. Schaefer of Schulenburg, in June 1915. To this union one son was born, Russell Schaefer, who attends Victoria Junior College.

Deceased us survived by her husband; one son, Russell Schaefer; her mother, Mrs. F. Forster of Rosenberg; three brothers. C.O. Forster of Thompsons, F.H. Forster and Raymond of Rosenberg; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Baumert of Deutch Lissa, Germany and Mrs. D.W. Schuech of Rosenberg.

Mrs. Schaefer was prominent in Schulenburg. She was Past Matron of the Schulenburg Eastern Star Chapter and a worker in other civic organizations in that city.

Sympathy is extended the bereaved family.
