Wiley A. Chabert Sr., 74, a native and resident of Cut Off, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008.
Funeral service was held at noon today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by one son, John Chabert Sr. and wife, Robin; one daughter, Stephanie Dowdy and husband, Roger Sr.; one sister, Betty C. Orgeron and husband, Teddy; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Widless and Lydia Bourgeois Chabert; and two brothers, Godfrey and Wilbert Chabert.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
