Evan John Ammeson of Tower Lakes, Barrington Evan John Ammeson, 96, was the beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Hill), whom he married in 1945 and passed away Feb. 7, 1989; loving father of Margaret Ann (Claude) Wiatrowski, John Conrad (Marilyn), Barbara Lee (David) Reynolds and James Earnest (Eini); cherished grandfather of Kevin and Karen Wiatrowski, Evan, James and Cathy Ammeson, Amy (Brock Napierkowski) Reynolds and Eric Reynolds; devoted son of the late John Conrad and Minnie (nee Burg) Ammeson; dear brother of the late Ruth (Leroy) Nelson; and fond uncle of Virginia "Ginger" Edwards and Darryl Nelson. Evan was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Chicago, and passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at home. Evan was a machinist mate in the Navy during World War II, became a troop leader, merit badge counselor and attained the "Order of the Arrow" in the Boy Scouts of America, was a member of many railroading clubs, the Rock Falls and Wauconda American Legion, and was a devoted member of the Federated Church of Wauconda. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084. On Tuesday, the funeral will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary. Memorials are appreciated to the Federated Church of Wauconda, 200 S. Barrington Road, Wauconda, IL. 60084.
