Floyd T. Crawford, 83, a retired engineer and former school board member in the Moon River Area School District, died Wednesday of a heart attack at Sewickley Valley Hospital. Mr. Crawford, who lived in Moon since 1940, graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Engineering. He worked for the Dravo Corp. as a design engineer for 41 years before retiring in 1871. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sewickley and served as an Explorer leader for Boy Scout Troop 333. He was a school board member in Moon Area from 1949 to 1955, headed the school authority when the new high school was built, and was on the Moon Zoning Hearing Board. He is survived by his wife, Helen, and five grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by the Copeland Funeral home, Coraopolis. There will be no visitation and services will be private. Burial will be at Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. - Pittsburgh Press, June 1, 1990.
