Bert was born to Mrs. Lula Mae Weathers Hutto and Thomas Dewey Hutto in Denmark, SC. She spent many happy years on Johns Island with her family, retired in Santee and lived for the past three years in Ridgeville, SC.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and was very active in her church at Lake Marion Baptist and recently became a member of Sandridge Baptist Church.
Bert was a devoted wife to the late Thomas Waltz. She was predeceased by her son Tommy and daughter Brenda Feigl. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Diane Driggers (Bud) and Peggy Summers (Grant). She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Shannon Cochran (Eric), Eric Summers (Keonnia), Jessica Cokins (Tom), Megan Driggers, Ashley and Dustin Summers, Hayley and Taylor Feigl; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Riva (Charles) Murphy and Polly Mills.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:31 Visitation will be held, August 26, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home with the funeral service following in Carolina Memorial Chapel, North Charleston. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
