Adrian lived in the Bronx for the first 33 years of her life. As a youngster, she tended toward "tomboy" pursuits and interests and as a teenager; she pursued adventures and jobs with her friends Johanna Downs and Marion Weinbaum. She graduated from Taft High School where she went to her prom with her future husband, Clement. In 1964, she moved to Schenectady with her family and initially continued in her roles of homemaker and mom. In 1972, she was employed at the former Macy's Furniture Clearance Center where her enthusiasm and friendly manner lead her to be sought after by customers and recognized as a sales leader by Macy's.
Along with her mother and son Patrick, Adrian and Clement went on a memorable Caribbean cruise in 1976. In retirement, she and Clement had wonderful adventures traveling throughout Europe and northern Africa. Adrian was a powerhouse of energy, and always doing something. Until the time of her illness, she especially enjoyed gardening and gallivanting with her son, William. But her greatest joy always remained her family and friends – dotting on her husbands and sons, chatting with her daughter-in-law Linda, and regularly corresponding with all family members and friends.
Adrian was the beloved wife of over 62 years to Clement Viola and devoted mother of James (Linda) Viola of Clifton Park, William Viola of Niskayuna, Thomas Viola of Niskayuna, and Patrick Viola who predeceased her in 1988. She also leaves to cherish her memory , her grand-daughters Jennifer Viola (Felix Esquivel) and Jamie (Ryan) Obst, and many nieces and nephews.
