ABILENE -- Sadie M. Atherton, 82, died Monday, April 20, 2009. She was born May 16, 1926, in Baton Rouge, La., to Frank James and Rosie Lee Noble. On Dec. 27, 1973, she married Joe Atherton. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Radke, of Salina; sons, Ronald and Steve Keim, both of Abilene; stepdaughter, JoEllen Berk, of Lenexa; stepsons, Joseph Edward Atherton Jr., of Wichita, and Chuck Atherton, of Topeka; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at Abilene Cemetery. Friends may call Danner Funeral Home, Abilene, until time of service. The family suggests memorial contributions in her memory be given to Elsie Brooks Cancer fund, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 758, Abilene 67410.
