Adelene was born in Fairmont, W.VA, daughter of the late Salvatore & Marguerite Muti Petrone and had resided in Hamden and Stamford most of her life. She was a graduate of Southern Conn. State College and received her Masters degree and Sixth Year degree from Columbia University.
She taught in the Stamford School System for 47 years prior to retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She is survived by her beloved sister and sister in law, Ceil Petrone and Ruth Petrone, both of Hamden, nieces and nephews, Joanne Borsani (Ralph), Marilyn Walters (John), Marguerite Abate, Linda Peters (Rob) and Guy Petrone (Amy) and several grand nieces and nephews and a great great grandniece.
She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Salvatore, Angela, Amelia, and Matilda Petrone and Marguerite Abate( Michael). Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church, Tuesday at 10 A.M., followed by interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
