Mr Wood was born the son of the late John and Alice (Godsil) Wood.
Survivors include Eunice, his wife of more than 50 yrs, son John Wood VI and his wife Cherie of Milwaukee and their sons, John VII and Jacob; and daughter Jean and her husband Thomas Ziesmer of Hartford Wisconsin, and their children Peter, Zachary, and Emily. He is survived by a brother Douglas A Wood(Carole) of Chicago.
Mr. Wood was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He enjoyed sharing his computer skills, his specialty with AT&T and also with other retirees where he lived where he taught computer skills.
When visiting in Quincy, he enjoyed going to the historical society to see the home of his ancestor, Gov. John Wood's Greek Revival mansion at 12th and State Streets.
Burial will be in the Wood Family Plot at Woodland Cemetery in Quincy, Ill.∼John Dennis Wood, 73, of Hot Springs Village passed away August 23, 2013. He was born May 18, 1940 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin to the late John and Alice Wood.
John was an Air Force veteran and a member of Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church. He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors. John was a computer technician and taught classes at McAuley Center. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Loving survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Eunice Wood of Hot Springs Village; children, John Wood (Cherie) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Jean Ziesmer (Thomas) of Hartford, Wisconsin; brother, Douglas A. Wood (Carole) of Chicago; and grandchildren, John and Jacob Wood and Peter, Zachary and Emily Ziesmer.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. August 28, 2013 at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church with Dr. Walter Smith officiating.
