John Russell Bracken of Dayton died at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1964) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1882 in Shelocta, a son of the late Samuel and Mary (Russell) Bracken.
Mr. Bracken was a resident of Dayton for 41 years where he was a member of the Methodist Church. He retired in 1955 from the gas wells and lines department at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company after working for 43 years.
He was married Dec. 17, 1912 to Mary Kathryn Travis, who preceded him in death on May 17, 1954.
Surviving are two sons, Alfred L. Bracken of Monroeville and John S. Bracken of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Schrecengost of Dayton RD 1; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. W. T. Bryan and Mrs. Edward Hutchison, both of Ford City and Miss Lulu Bracken of Kittanning.
