Funeral services for Dennis Lee Lewis. 52, of Killeen. will be at 2 p.m. Tues day at Faith Temple with the Rev. Bob Miller officiating.
Burial will be at Killeen City Cemetery. Lewis died at his home Saturday. He had been a police captain in charge of the Killeen Police Department’s detective bureau. Before joining the police department in 1968 Lewis had served 21 years In the U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of first sergeant E8.
He was born Feb. 1, 1931 in Bowie, Texas, and had lived in the Killeen area for the past 21 years.
Lewis was a member of Faith Temple. He held membership in the Central Police Officers Association and in the Texas Police Officers Association.
Lewis Is survived by his wife. Barbara Lewis of Killeen; four sons, Richard L. (Rick) Lewis, Terry D. Lewis and Randall W. Lewis. all of Killeen. and Jeffrey V. Lewis of Dallas; his mother. Mrs. Myrtle M. Parks of Los Angeles; a brother, David Parks of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren Kristi, Halley, Kelley and Trish all of Killeen.
Pallbearers will be Killeen police officers. Officers Jerry Wright, John Cannon, Werner Camargo. Carl Stevens, Bob Stephens, George Layne. Sam Andrews and Jackie Dunn will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
