Arthur was born in Robinson Illinois. He moved to Sullivan county Indiana as a young boy. On Feb. 21 1911 he married Connie E. Burdge. Connie brought a daughter with her to the marriage. Connie and Arthur had two children. Arthur, who died as an infant in April 1915, and Fredrick Frank who was born in 1913. Arthur enlisted in the Spanish American War in 1900 and served in the army for four years. He worked as an engineer at the old Paxton mine. Funeral services were held at the Providence Christian church officiated by Reverend Sanders of Indianapolis.
