Edward P. Leiker, 84, Munjor, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Hays Medical Center. He was born May 4, 1929, in rural Munjor to Peter B. and Susan (Befort) Leiker.

He married Pearl Mary Herrman on May 22, 1950, in Liebenthal.

He was a graduate of Hays High School. He was a farmer and oilman all his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a sergeant in the motor pool. He was a member St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Eugene Leiker, Hays, and John Leiker and wife, Deanna, Munjor; three daughters, Judy Leiker and husband, Terry Farley, Sydney, Australia, Joan Haddock and husband, Jack, Munjor, and Christine Johnson and husband, Dennis, Hays; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred P. Leiker, Aloysius P. Leiker, A.P. Leiker and Alexander P. Leiker; and two sisters, Loretta Leiker and Marcella Staab.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor; burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, both at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601. A St. Francis of Assisi Christian Mothers rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, followed by a vigil at 6:30 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor, in care of the funeral home.
