Alice I. Heesch, 80, of Albany, passed away Sunday at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House. She was born in Watertown, S.D., the daughter of Arthur J. and Esther (Stein) Daggit.Alice married Orville Heesch on June 23, 1954 in Bushnell, SD.

Alice moved with her family to Oregon in 1970. She was a very social person. Everyone Alice met became a friend. Music and people were very important to Alice. She loved her church and family. Alice was a faithful wife, beloved mother and grandmother.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Esther Daggit; her twin brother, Arthur C.Daggit; and a sister Rosemary Daggit. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Orville Heesch of Albany; daughters, Valerie Vicari (Tom), of College Place, WA, Melodie Thomas (Bill), of Albany, Cherrie Wellons (Greg), of Albany and Harmonie Armstrong (Walker), of Olympia, WA, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
