William W. Wyckoff was born 1808 in Ontario Co., New York to Albert William Wyckoff and Elizabeth Maynard of Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania. Before 1820, the family removed to the Town of Clarence, Erie Co., New York. Although William never married or had children, he raised his nephew, Washington Wyckoff. He removed to Bingham Township, Clinton Co., Michigan, where he died in 1892. Nearby are buried his niece, Nancy Amanda (Crothers) Phelps, and nephew, John Chappel, children of William's sister, Mary "Polly" (Wyckoff) Crothers Chappel.
