A native of Jena, LA, a resident of Hamburg for the past 20 years and a former resident of Houston, Texas, he was a retired service technician for the Liquid Carbonic Gas Company in Houston. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Houston, and he attended the Church of the Redeemer. He loved music, fishing and playing the guitar.
Marion is survived by his companion, Maxie Bozeman Carpenter of Hamburg; three sons, Bruce, Ricky and Louvin Clark; a daughter & son-in-law: Darlene & Jerry Tillery, all of Houston; three sisters, Bernice Thompson of Jena, LA, and Gladys Tarver and Dianne {Clark}Heflin & her husband: Ricky Heflin: both of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law: Gloria Clark of Humble, TX., and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by Mrs. Maxie Carpenter's family, including her four sons Willie Mack, Charles and Pete Carpenter, all of Hamburg, and Hack Carpenter of Crossett; her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Philip and Elmer Clark; two brothers, Johnny and Perry Clark; and three sisters, Missouri Barker, Ernestine Swindell and Ellie Rutledge: & brother-i-law: J.J. Tarver.
Pallbearers were Hack, Thomas, Jason, Justin, Charles, Pete and Willie Mack Carpenter and Kevin Martin. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Bozeman, Lynn Lansdale and James Allen.
