Christina was the wife of Civil War Surgeon, Heber Smith (who later changed his name to Ernest Hebersmith.) For Ernest's military service under Abraham Lincoln and for his medical profession, they lived in New York, Massachusetts, New Orleans and San Francisco. The had 13 children. Those that survived into adulthood took the last name of Heber. The 13 were: Reginald Heber Sr. 1878-1950, Ernest Jr. 1862-1884, Christine 1869-1956, Martha 1871-1979, Suzanne 1874-1967, Alice K. 1876-1891, Lucianne 1880-1896, Florence 1882-1895, Olga Hope 1884-1892, Mary Alice 1864-1865, Mary, Molly, and Cecil.
Daughter Florence is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Charlotte NC Findagrave# 142319489.

Christina's parents were Elisha Akin 1797-1842 and Susannah Aldrich 1802-1868. Eisha's parents were Murray Akin 1765-1825 and Lucy Haynes 1770-1840. Susannah's parents were Anthony Aldrich 1766-1844 and Cynthia Allen 1780-1818.

Of Christina and Ernest's children: Reginald married Bertha Proseus McMillan 1878-1951 and had these 4 children: Reginald Heber Jr. 1908-2004 married Caroline Binley Jahne, Malcolm McMillan Heber 1911-1985 married Joanne Garland, Olga Aldrich Heber 1916-1979 married Gerard A. Kaufmann, and Mary Parsons Heber 1918-? married Gilbert Mathews. Christina's daughter Christine (Tinie) Heber married Charles R. Christina was born at the Old Akin Homestead in New York. She spent her early life in Patterson NY until she married. She was an accomplished pianist and much loved by her family and friends. She died in Mt. View New York while visiting a friend. Her body was brought back to Pawling NY for burial.
