PIONEER SPOKANE CONTRACTOR DEAD
Joseph Cunningham Passes Away After Two Years' illness, Here 22 Years.
Joseph Edgar Cunningham, age 62, pioneer contractor of Spokane, died this morning at his home, E318 Augusta avenue, after a long illness from Bright's disease. He had been invalid for two years and for the last two weeks failed rapidly.
Born in Winona, Minn. Mr Cunningham moved west 22 years ago and settled in Spokane, where he entered the contracting business. Until two years ago he was a familiar figure in building and trade circles of the city. He was an actived member of the Catholic church and is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; four daughters, Mrs. W. J. Harris, Mrs. helen Cook, Mrs. Virginia Pettie, and Miss Sue Cunningham, at home; six sons, J.A., Paul, Theodore, Richard, William and Leo, four sisters, Mary, Mrs. P.E. O'Connor, St. Paul, Mrs. W. J. Kerley and Mrs. Helen Hellenthall of Juneau, Alaska, and three brothers Dr. J. Cunningham of Spokane, Dr. L Cunningham of Chicago, Ill. and Clarence of Alimo, B.C.
