Clement John Rodell passed peacefully from this life to the next on August 16, 2013 at his home.

Clem was born in Farmington, Iowa on December 28, 1924 to George Rodell and Josephine Kennedy Rodell. He was raised catholic and graduated from St. Gregory's High School in Chicago. After graduating from High School he enlisted in the Army and served in WWII in the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He served in Rome-Arno, Southern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Decorations and citations were the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver Battle Star, Bronze Service Arrowhead, two Overseas Service Bars and Good Conduct Medal.

He attended De Paul University Chicago studying Liberal Arts and Peace Officer Training School.

Clem was a police officer for The Mountain View Police Dept, Mountain View, California prior to retiring from Internal Security for IRS.

His passion in life was golf and he reached the ultimate goal of "A Hole In One" at El Monte Golf Course hole #4, 163 yards, using a 6 iron at the grand age of 73!

We enjoyed Clem's uncanny wit and comical humor. He was a committed, dedicated, loving husband and caregiver of 64 years. His honesty was second to none. He raised and loved his children of four and grandchildren of five and lived as a shining example of true humanity. We loved him and he will be dearly missed.

Clem is survived by his wife, Patricia Rodell; sons, Stephen (Elizabeth), Robert (Nancy) and Michael; daughter, Sandy (Richard) Hall; siblings, Eileen Mark and Gerald (Jane) Rodell; and five grandchildren, Reed Hall, Matt Hall, Andrew Rodell, Kimberly Rodell and Leslie Rodell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Rodell and sister, Nedra Rodell Urban.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the St. James The Just Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd. A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ogden Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd with prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m.
