Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late John R. Motts and was the daughter of the late Elzie Lee Tate and Elsie Patterson Tate.
Mrs. Motts was a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended Limestone College, and retired from Hamricks. She had a radio show years ago, was a pianist, loved music, loved to read, and loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mrs. Motts was a member of New Covenant Church.
Surviving are two sons, John (Randy) Motts of Atlanta and Leon Motts and wife, Marilyn, of Greenville; a daughter, Diane Motts Harris and husband, Mike, of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Jessica Houghton and husband, Kelvin, Tate Motts, II and wife, Julia, Sarah Williamson and husband, Chris, and C. J. Cassell and wife, Bonnie; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, E. L. Tate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Corinth Baptist Church.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Ken Covington officiating. Interment will be in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
