Harriett Olivia Mary Forde, daughter of James Alexander and Maria Ann Forde, of 56, St Alban's Road, Dublin, was born on 7 June 1885, and was baptised at St. Luke's Church, Parish of St. Nicholas Without, Dublin, on 16 August 1885.

Her father was a Storekeeper in The Richmond Prison [on South Circular Road], near what was Griffith Barracks.


In the 1911 Census,
Harriet O.M. Forde was aged 23, living with her aunt Harriet McGinley and her family at Newpark, Swinford, Co. Mayo.
Also present was her grandmother, Mary Mellon, aged 76.

Her uncle, William John McGinley, was aged 53, and was a District Inspector in the Royal Irish Constabulary.


Harriet Olivia Mary Forde married Captain Alexander James Kaine M.C., a Canadian, who served with the Sherwood Foresters Regiment during WW1.

Alex James Kaine, born on 30 March 1870, an immigration inspector, enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 22nd September 1914, at the outbreak of WW1.
He appears to have been unmarried, and named his brother as his next of kin.

Harriet is thought to have died in Belfast
