Eloise Adeline Fraizer, 106, just 12 days short of being 107, passed away Aug. 19, 2013. She was born to Maurice and Effie May (Sheppard) Leak on Sept. 1, 1906, in Pratt County, Kan.

Growing up in Pratt County, she graduated from Pratt High School in 1925. After graduation, she was, for several years, the society editor and reporter for the Pratt Daily Tribune. In 1937, she left the paper to marry Jay H. Fraizer.

Eloise and Jay were married in Dallas on May 3, 1937. They subsequently moved to Bakersfield, Calif. Jay’s work with Western Geophysical Co. kept them moving to several places in California, Texas, Wyoming, Oregon, Mississippi and finally Midland, Texas. They retired in 1965 and moved to Highland Haven. Before Jay died in 1983, they moved to Kingsland.

She was very active in Kingsland Community Church and held many positions in her years of service. She also was a choir member for many years in several different churches. She was active in the Highland lakes Social Club and loved to play bridge and sometime reporter for the local Highlander newspaper.

Eloise is survived by her two daughters, Janis F. (Robert) Brown and Beverley J. Spaw, both of Kingsland; five grandchildren, Lisa Brown (Pete) Martin, Kathy Brown (Adrian) Rodriguez, Rick (Trudy) Spaw, Donna Hoschler (Steven) Mahan and Scott (Teresa) Spaw; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers Charlie and Harold Leak; sister-in-law Evelyn Leak; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jay; sisters, Evelyn Leak, Wilma Detwiller and Arlene Berry; brother Richard; and her granddaughter’s husband Bill Hoschler.

Visitation is at Kingsland Community Church with a service following. Burial will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet.

Pallbearers are Steven Mahan, Billy Hoschler, Tyray Hoschler, Rick Spaw, Scott Spaw, Josh Spaw and Kyler Spaw, Sam Sherak Honorary Pallbearers will include, Robert Brown, Charlie Leak, Harold Leak, Cotton Ragsdale, Dayton King, Adrian Rodriguez, Pete Martin and Rick Sherak.
