WOODSFIELD - Thelma M. Weber, 89, of West Church Street died Sunday November 10, 2002 at the Monroe County Care Center. She was born February 15, 1913, in Monroe County to Henry and Birdie Ackerman. She was retired from the Woodsfield school district and worked as a "Gray Lady" with the Barnesville Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for 31 years.

She was a member of the Woodsfield Homemakers, Eastern Star Lodge 268, Pythian Sisters and Woodsfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was also a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Woodsfield, where she served on the Women's Guild, church council, and United Church of Christ Larger Parish.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Leighton Weber; one daughter, Helen Marie Ring and her husband, Paul, of Woodsfield; one sister, Dorthea Burkhardt of Columbus; four grandchildren, Paula Ring (Bill Frank), Marc Ring (Helen Kay Ring), Matthew Ring (Greg Woods) and Andrew Ring (Lori Ring); and five great-grandchildren, Magan, Marissa, Zachary, Kelsey and Jacob Ring.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Abraham and Francis Ackerman; and four sisters, Deloris Thompson, Helen Pickens, Estella Taylor and Pauline Benton.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Woodsfield with the Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield. Eastern Star Lodge services are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
