Funeral services for Russell Arment, 80, of Edina, were held Friday afternoon, May 6, 1977 at 2 o'clock in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. The Rev. Jesse Flinn, pastor of the Edina Christian Church, conducted the services.
Burial was in the Knox City cemetery.
Mr. Arment died Tuesday night, May 3, 1977, at 9 o'clock in Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville.
Born Jun 3, 1896, near Novelty, he was the son of William and Ellen Rogers Arment.
On Nov 18, 1914 at Knox City, he married Mamie Boltz who survives.
Also surviving are three half-brothers, Vernon Arment and John Arment, both of Quincy, Illinois and George Arment of Shelbyville; three half-sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ruby) Baxter and Mrs. Robert (Ann) Norton both of Knox City and Mrs. Robert (Alice) London of the state of Michigan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Mr. Arment was a life-long resident of Knox County. He resided on a farm near Knox City for 46 years before moving to Edina six years ago. Before his retirement he was engaged in farming and had operated a road maintainer for 23 years.
