OBITUARY - Volume 52, NO 43 (name of paper not on copy)
JEFF PENNINGTON DIED SUNDAY MORNING

As the long line of ages glide away,
The sons of men, the youth in life's green spring,
Matron and maid, the sweet babe and the grey headed man,
Shall one by one be gathered to the side,
By those in their turn shall follow them.

John Beaugard (Jeff) Pennington, son of Isaac and Martha Ellen Pennington, was born in Jamestown, Moniteau County, Missouri, December 1st, 1861 and departed this life February 2, 1941 at his home near Bosworth, MO., where he has resided the past seventy years.

When a lad of nine years, he moved with his parents to the farm near Bosworth, where he grew to manhood. He was one of the pioneers of the Brown school district and there received his education.

On April 20, 1903 he was united in marriage to Bertha McWilliams, and they began their married life on the farm with his father. Caring for his father and an aged aunt their remaining years. Although they were not blessed with any children of their own, they took a nephew Ernest McWilliams, in infancy, and raised him to manhood. Their home was always open to other relatives, who were in need of a home.

In 1935 while Rev. L.B. Hargrove was holding a rivial in Bosworth, he was converted and united with the Baptist Church of Bosworth.

Thus ends the toiling days of the departed, but we can not stop here as life of one who lived as long cannot pass on from memory.

As a neighbor never did one need a friend or help, when he could not be found willing and ready to do all in his power to lighten their burden.

Three brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, foster son and two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Wohlgemuth and Mrs. J. R. Wohlgemuth, both of Triplett, MO., besides a host of other
relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Ross Canning of Liberty, MO. Internment in the Big Creek Cemetery, Carroll Co., MO.

Call not back the dear departed
Anchored safe where storm are over
On the border land we left him
Soon to meet and part no more
When we leave this world of changes
When we leave this world of care
We shall find our missing loved ones
In our Father's mansion fair.
