Edgar M. Spencer, 85, of 102 Nates Floral Estates, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 1994 in Tompkins Community Hospital. He was born in Ithaca, son of the late Eli and Carrie Rumsey Spencer. For forty-three years Edgar owned and operated Spencer's Grocery in Ithaca. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Sepe of Miami, FL, his brother, Ward Spencer of Ithaca, several great grandchildren and grandchildren including Dena Alo Colbeck of Seattle, several nephews and nieces including Hazel Lucas of Ithaca. He is also survived by his companion of several years, Natalie Pearsall of Ithaca. A funeral service will be celebrated by Rev. Bernard Carges on Monday at 1 a.m. at Bangs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or to the charity of one's choice.
