Mary Frank Gaston of Bryan died after fighting illness over the last three years.

She will be buried in a private ceremony in Smith Cemetery near Athens in Henderson County.

She was born in Athens, attended public schools, completed high school in 1959 and received her undergraduate degree three years later from East Texas State College in Commerce. Her career was being a wonderful mother and wife as well as a prolific writer about antique porcelain and decorative arts. She published 24 books and several magazine and newspaper articles.

She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years Jerry Gaston of Bryan, their son Jeremy Gaston of Houston, her granddaughters Jordan Gaston and Reagan Billingsley of Santa Fe. She is also survived by her wonderful Ballow and Ingram family cousins.

Mary Frank was the daughter of Frank and Vera Ingram Ballow, who preceded her in death and are buried in Smith Cemetery.
