JOHN OAKS and JUDITH [T?] OAKES, wife of John; WILLIAM [also WILLARD] R. FISHER and SOPHIA M. FISHER, his wife; JAMES NICHOLS and WEALTHY C. NICHOLS, his wife; all of Townshend, convey land to CHILDS WHEATON, of Townshend, for $500. Quit claim of all their rights to a certain tract of land in Townshend, it being the farm on which the said CHILDS WHEATON now lives, being also the farm owned by ARBA HOLBROOK at the time of his decease, together with the recursion of the widow's dower. Land is bounded on the north by JONA' AUSTIN's land, on the west by DANA BAILEY and HARVEY HOLBROOK, on the south by MICAJAH WEATHERBY, HARVEY HOLBROOK; and on the east by JOHN L. NICHOLS and ARAD HOLBROOK's land. Witnessed by Peter R. Taft, Alphonzo Taft. Attest by Peter R. Taft, JP, 27 Aug. 1839. Recorded 8 Sept. 1839 by Emery Cathan, town clerk.
[Judith, Sophia, and Wealthy are all daughters of Arba Holbrook. They are deeding their rights to the family farm to Childs Wheaton, who is their mother's second husband. Another daughter, Mary L. Holbrook married a Mr. Krause and lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan.]
