Parents,Selem"Paul"and Nona Chase Casbergue.The family moved to Freeport,in 1917.Where her father was employed by the Freeport Sulpher Company.In 1927,Alice married Rayman G.Carlton,who was in dental school in Houston,Texas,at the time.She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star,and was secretary for the First Presbyterian Church in Freeport,for several years.In 1962,she moved to Austin,Texas,to take a position as an editor for the Presbyterian Synod Magazine.She retired to Kerrville,Texas,to be near her mother.While there,she volunteered for service at the Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Encampment/Conference Center. Mrs. Carlton returned to Brazosport area in 1992.Mrs.Carlton was preceded in death by a sister,and two daughters.She would not ever talk about her parents,nor her husband,while we visited,1993-94.Survivors:one brother;one son;two granddaughters;and three great-grandchildren.Funeral service 10:00a.m. Monday,August 22,2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Jackson,Texas,with Pastor Alan Trafford officiating.Source:The Brazosport Facts Newspaper.
