Florence Anne Reynolds was born September 8 1877 in Salisbury Maryland.
Her parents moved to Baltimore Maryland in the 1880's? She was married to Wm.W Jones on Dec 5 1892, she was a teen bride just 15 years old, he was 23 years. They lived with her parents William and Carolyn Reynolds in Baltimore Maryland for about 8 months. Then they moved west to Washington Ct. Hse. Ohio where Mr. Jones roots were. Hazel Alveria Jones was born there on July 17 1894.(Florence was 17 and Wm 25). Mr. Jones came to St Louis at age 11 years with his parents Annetta Sears Jones and Lewis Beach Jones and they lived in a big handsome brick house at 1225 Armstrong.

He brought his wife and baby Hazel to live with parents in 1896. After a devasting tornado ripped through St. Louis, the once prestigious neighbourhood started to decline. Mr. Jones worked as a book-keeper probably for his father whom he lived and worked with all his life. In 1897 Florence Mildred Jones was born. In February 1898 William left Florence and the children with his parents and disappeared (he drank excessively and was a womanizer). Florence took the children (Hazel almost 4 years and Mildred 1 year) back to Baltimore to live with her parents while she worked as a Milliner to support them. In November of 1898 William showed up again in Baltimore. On April 19, 1900, while Florence was at work he kidnapped Hazel off the sidewalk and carried her back to St. Louis to live with his parents, where he would tell Hazel that her Mother did not want her or love her anymore. Florence was pregnant at the time with their third child, maybe her reason for not trying to retrieve her daughter Hazel.? Florence filed for divorce in August 1900 proving she could support Hazel and Mildred and wanted custody. Louise Carolyn was born November 18 1900. The divorce was granted February 18 1901 in Baltimore and custody was granted to Florence.

Florence married for a second time to Jerome Link, a prosperous business man and he gave Florence and the girls a good life. He went on to adopt Mildred and Louise, he also wanted to adopt Hazel, who was still living with her Grandparents on the Jones side, but he was not able to get her back.

According to Jerry (Jerome Hines, the son of Florence Mildred and Ray Heinz) his Grandmother was very stable and strong willed. She was quite pretty, but vain. Her girls called her Darlin' rather than Mother, as well as Grandchildren who came later. Once she took the girls to see the Wright Bros. fly the Kitty Hawk and passed them off as her sisters. Jerome Link died at age 49 years and she moved to Los Angeles Ca. with Mildred and Louise, stopping by on the way to see Hazel and her baby Ruth in St. Louis. She had a face lift and was quite a flirt according to Jerry. She worked as a practical nurse, but was in a bad accident and was seriously injured and almost lost her leg. She lived with Florence Mildred for awhile in Hollywood.

Florence Anne Reynolds Jones Link died suddenly of a heart attack in Los Angeles, Ca. in 1957 at age 80. She is buried in Valllhalla Memorial Park Cemetery, in Hollywood.
