Eldred C “Tommy” Thomason was born November 9, 1922, at Lisbon ND, the son of Elmer and Florence F Thomason. He grew up at Lisbon, graduating from high school there in 1939. Soon after, he joined the CC camp at Ft McKeogh, Miles City, going from there to a job on the McNuny Ranch. Thomason entered the US Air Force in June 1943, serving nearly three years before bing discharged in March 1946, as a staff sergeant. Most of his WWII duty was in the Pacific Theatre. Returning to Miles City, he was employed at Ft McKeogh as a heavy equipment operator, then moved into construction work in the oil fields. He married Lillie M Dolatta, at Miles City on June 4, 1950, He later worked for the Peavey elevator in Terry for eight years; and for the last five years, until last September, he was a member of the county road crew. While living in Terry, he also operated a ranch eight miles west of town. Mr Thomason was a member of the Eagle Lodge, and of the American Legion. He passed away April 12, 1977 after a struggle with cancer at his home in Terry. He was 54 years age.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter Suzanne Irene, Mrs Argan) Johnson of Memphis TN, and four sons — Thomas Leo, with the US Navy in Japan; Joel Eldred, a US Army Special Forces “Green Beret”, in Panama; and Daniel Charles and Leslie Gerard, both of the home. Also his mother of Lisbon of Miles City;six brothers - Elmer and Bernard of Lisbon ND, Michael of Denver, Terrance of Enderlin ND, Vincent of Ellensburg WA, and Leo of Miles City; and three sisters — Mrs Jack Aberle of Lisbon; Mrs Eddie Cole of Cedar Rapids IA; and Mrs Hy Pouliot of Manchester NH. There are also a grandson and grand-daughter.
