OGDEN STANDARD EXAMINER, July 28, 1970. Centerville- James M. Lafon, 70 of 1062 N. Main, Centerville, Formerly of Ogden, Died Monday in the South Davis Community hospital in Bountiful of natural causes. Mr. Lafon was born Sept.4, 1899 in Creede, Colo., a son of James H. and Dora Jane Knapp Lafon. He was married to {Frances}Josephine Harbison in 1920 in Ogden. They were divorced. He was married to Ruby Hansen in 1924 in Farmington. She died May 24, 1951. He was reared and educated in Missouri, moving to Oregon in 1916. During WWI he served with the Army. He worked at Hill Air Force Base from 1940 until retiring in 1965. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Dee Lafon, Ada Okla.; Mrs Earl (Elizabeth) Taylor, Asabo, Japan; Mrs Keith (Dora)Simpson, Centerville; 31 Grandchildren, one Sister, Mrs. Annie P. Gourley, Grants Pass Ore. Funeral Services will be announced by the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary in Ogden.
