Vivian Elizabeth Batove, 81, of Washington, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007, in Southmont Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, after an 18-month illness.

She was born May 25, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of Preston Garrett and Madaline Elizabeth Chesser Roach.

Mrs. Batove attended Washington schools and was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Batove worked as a cashier at Bartolotta's, A&P and Foodland grocery stores.

She enjoyed camping and traveling.

On February 25, 1946, she married James Morris Batove, who died April 23, 1997.

Surviving are a son, James L. (Irene) Batove of Washington; a sister, Thelma C. Feiszli of Washington; and three grandchildren, April E. Batove, J.D. (Dana) Batove and Cerra (Mike) Coddington.

Deceased are two brothers, Kenneth and Bob Roach, and a sister, Betty Mae Bedillion.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, with the Rev. William Dicks officiating.

Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
