He was the husband of Rita M. (Conley) Keefe, who died in 1981.
Born in Lynn, the son of the late Andrew and the late Margaret A. (Connolly) Keefe [who died in 1961], he attended the former St. Mary's grammar school and attended the former St. Mary's High School.
Mr. Keefe was first employed as a young man for the Conservation Corps.
Following his service in the Coast Guard during World War II from 1942 to 1946, he was employed at the former Draper Corp. in Hopedale. He later served as a union laborer for more than 50 years as a member of Laborer's Local 609.
A resident of Milford for most of his life, he was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and a member of the Lawrence J. Heron DAV Post of Milford and the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford, and was a past member of the Elks.
He leaves three sons, a daughter, 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of Kathleen E. Tomassini, who died in 1986, and Jean E. Nolan, who died in 2003.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at 9 a.m., from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, 19 Winter St., Milford.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cedar Street (Rte. 85), in Milford.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
